With Juneuary finally over it was once again playtime in Squamish, and that means mountain time. One of my favourite places is Garibaldi provincial park, in particular Black tusk via Taylor meadows. I had done the trip as a over nighter a few October’s ago, and now in mid July as a quick day trip with Jordan. Shortly after leaving Taylor meadows the trail gave way to snow, and our route deviated from normal summer path. Instead we headed straight for the Tusk enjoying great views of Garibaldi mountain & lake. The scramble is very enjoyable, as long as you enjoy loose and easy. The crux was dry and snow free, while the descent was perfect for glissading. 12 hours and 28kms later this was my favourite photo profiling Garibaldi mountain & lake.

My Flickr set forĀ Garibaldi provincial park includes both Black Tusk trips, as well as other areas of the park.
